The center of Tilburg is in full swing. To strengthen the core shopping area, an integral urban development plan and design plan for the public space developed has been developed in collaboration with the municipality of Tilburg, Wereldhave and the public planning team. Built-up developments and new streets are presented in a contemporary way and are fitted into the existing structures of the historic centre. The existing qualities and use of materials serve as inspiration for the new design.

In addition to strengthening the center as a shopping, residential and meeting area, greening and creating solutions for heat stress and water storage form major objectives of the plans. The planting plan, which is fully geared to cooling the public space, is drought-resistant and, in addition, provides an increase in urban
biodiversity forms important part of this.

With the new Core Shopping Area, Tilburg will have a nature-inclusive public space that is ready for the future.
