The urban, activity park in the centre of the city, Farum, is created with a focus on movement, way-finding and forming a safe, homely environment. The park is placed within an extraordinary and large social housing area from the 1970s and was designed in close contact with the residents.

The activity park demonstrates a fine balance between practicality and aesthetics. Table tennis, climbing walls and trampolines are just a few of the facilities bringing children together in the park, while new, creative paths connect the area in innovative ways. A wide slide makes it easy to get from the shops on the first floor to the ground level, while an elevated path runs between the treetops and literally offers the residents a new way of seeing their homes. Below the treetops and between lush, green plantings a pathway of steel creates new ties in the area, while bringing the residents closer to the surrounding nature.

The activity park functions on many different levels: the rejuvenation of the outdoor areas supports a good residential life, it underlines the change of image the social housing complex is currently undergoing, and it increases biodiversity. Effects which have resulted in the area becoming safer, livelier and better connected to the rest of Farum city.
