What’s New in Enscape 3.5

presented by Enscape

Enscape is a real-time visualization and virtual reality plugin popularly used by landscape architects, designers, and other AEC professionals. Here are the new features and improvements you can expect in its latest version, Enscape 3.5:

The adjustable asset series

The adjustable assets series includes over 1,000 assets with variants and color or material customization assets. Filter by the tag ‘adjustable’ to find all the assets with this functionality in the Enscape Asset Library.

What can be adjusted?

The assets with the color or material customization function let you adjust parameters to accentuate or blend assets in scenes via a customization panel. You can choose from a color palette or enter a HEX code to get the exact shade you want for each of the 91 vehicles available. The adjustable material function is available for furniture, accessories, and new people assets. This lets you change the materials and colors or select alternative textures.

What are the variants?

Assets with variants give you multiple versions of the same asset. Vegetation, furniture, and accessories assets now come with variations allowing you to select the perfect asset for your scene to convey the right design intent. You can mark the variants as favourites and use them for multi-asset placement.

Another new asset update is the ability to modify a group of assets at once. You can save yourself from repetitive editing work by selecting, de-selecting, replacing, or deleting them with the multi-asset editing feature. This feature is available to all assets in the Enscape Asset Library.

Unique 3D Enscape-ready models

Mid-last year, Enscape invested in a 3D scanner that allows real-life people to be scanned and turned into assets. Earlier this year, a package of 53 unique people assets was released. Now, with the 3.5 version, more have been added, bringing the total to over 90!

These special assets give you a variety of people to liven up presentations by filling scenes with the right entourage and illustrating your true design intent.

New functions and improvements

As with all of Enscape’s version updates, 3.5 includes a slew of new functions and improvements to existing features. One of them is the Alpha Channel Export update, which lets you enjoy improved compositing of semi-transparent materials with a different background in the Alpha Channel export. You can reduce time spent in post-production and create realistic-looking renderings even more efficiently.

You can now enhance the realism of design scenes with improved indirect lighting in interiors and more accurate indirect lighting in mirror reflections. This function is available for users with a GPU with hardware-accelerated ray-tracing support. Whether you want to add more depth to the perspective of an interior scene or give a more authentic depiction of shading in a mirror reflection, these improvements have you covered.

Rhino users can expect a better workflow as the asset geometry will now be placed on the current layer. Revit users can enjoy Revit 2024 support and an update to orthographic views. And all users benefit from a User Area in the Toolbar for your Enscape User Account, as well as certified SpaceMouse support.
